The Beast of Bodmin Moor
In Cornwall England there's a myth of a large black cat called "The Beast of Bodmin Moor". This is a creature from local folklore that's often described as resembling a puma or leopard. This elusive beast has had sightings that date back to the late 20th century starting with report of livestock being slaughtered and near the killings were strange, feline-like tracks.
Local legends suggest that the beast is an exotic pet that escaped from a zoo or private collection, while others believe its a mythical guardian of the moors.
Eyewitness accounts vary, with some claiming they have seen the creature stalking around the bushes and that its piercing eyes glow in the night. Despite numerous investigations and debates, the existence of the beast remains unproven leaving many to question its legitimacy, however to the locals surrounding the moor they claim the creature is very real and is a danger to local livestock..
