The Buru
The Buru is a giant serpent from the folklore of The Apatani people rumored to inhabit the remote waters of North East India. This creature has both reptile and amphibious characteristics with witnesses describing it as a 20 foot crocodile-like creature.
Residing mainly in swamps around the Ziro valley the Buru is said to rarely leave the water. This cryptid is known to have a horrible roar and is known for attacking humans while working in swampy fields. The mainstream cryptozoology community regard this creature as purely myth rather than an undiscovered species considering there hasn't been any live or dead specimen sightings in over 80 years.
There are tribal stories that suggest the swamps were drained and these creatures were killed off however modern researchers may never know the truth behind any of these claims..
