The Flatwoods Monster
The Flatwoods Monster is a legend of West Virginia mythology and is a terrifying mystery to this day. This figure in American cryptid lore, was first sighted in 1952 when several witnesses reported encountering a strange, towering creature in Flatwoods, West Virginia.
This monster was described as having a spade-shaped head, glowing red eyes, and a metallic outfit. There is wide belief this creature is extraterrestrial in origin as some witnesses described seeing the monster after a bright flash in the sky.
The creature was allegedly up to ten feet tall and the encounter was rumored to cause vomiting and nausea to the witnesses. This entry is particularly disturbing and makes me curious about a plausible explanation however I couldn't find any. The truth behind this West Virginia legend is hidden for now..
