The Hodag
The Hodag is a legendary cryptid from Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Witnesses claim to have seen this horrific beast while exploring the deep woods of Rhinelander in the 1890's, even claiming a group of men had to use dynamite to kill the creature. Since this encounter, the Hodag has become an icon of the region and has even inspired a local school to pick the cryptid up as its mascot.
The Hodag's charred remains were rumored to have been photographed after its supposed death, however the legitimacy of this account is still unknown.
The following events after this incident were even more intriguing as there was another claim made about this creature except this time a man claimed that he had captured the beast, which inevitably lead to the man retracting his claim and stating his account was a hoax after hearing that researchers from the Smithsonian would be investigating his story. The Hodag would be a terrifying animal if ever confirmed to be true however for now since there's no concrete evidence only time will tell.
