The Honey Island Swamp Monster
This creature known as Honey Island Swamp Monster is an ape-like cryptid that was first sighted in the 1960's. Witnesses describe this being as a large, hairy humanoid creature, standing approximately seven feet tall and its believed to emit a distinct, foul odor reminiscent of rotting vegetation.
The origins of this creature are unknown with some locals theorizing that this being was actually a descendant of escaped circus chimpanzees, while some others would argue it could just be a giant alligator considering its webbed foot imprint found in left behind footprints.
There's been many sightings though out the years prompting hundreds of researchers and cryptozoologists to hunt for the elusive beast however the best evidence has been eerie audio recordings and blurry pictures. The hunt for this cryptid continues but remains a local legend in the state of Louisiana.
