This hobbit-like ape creature is a legend of Indonesian folklore and is believed to inhabit the forests on the island of sumantra. This creatures name translates to "short person" in Indonesian and the tribes that live near this cryptid believe its as real as any of the animals in the forest.

This ape is reportedly around three feet tall and is seen often trying to sneak sugar cane from the local crops. The lore surrounding this creature blur the lines between a small ape and this creature possibly being more similar to the idea of a hobbit or small humanoid as its believed to walk bi pedally.

National Geographic spent two years trying to capture this small creature on flim however they had little to no luck. I think its very possible for this to be a mysterious new type of small ape but we wont know forsure untill we find a living or dead specimen.
