Popobawa
The Popobawa, otherwise know as the vampire of Tanzania is a vile cryptid that is probably the most disturbing cryptid in this collection.
This monster is known for assaulting men, women and children at night in horrific ways. Locals believe this demon can cause night terrors and that if you tell anyone about your encounter with this creature it will come back.
The origin of this being is still unknown however many suggest it originates from fears of crimes that are committed within a community easily explained away with a vampire's demonic force rather than being done by perpetrators that would otherwise face justice.
