Rokukurokubi
The Rokurokubi is one of the most bizarre and fascinating beings from Japanese folklore. This cryptid or "Yokai" is often depicted as a human by day and a supernatural being by night.
The lore suggests that during the day these entities appear as ordinary people, however but as the night begins they turn into something far more sinister. They are believed to possess the eerie ability to stretch their necks to incredible lengths. This leads many to question what exactly are these beings and ask if they are they legitimate or purely story telling.
Lore suggests these beings are the result of a curse similar to like a werewolf during a full moon, these woman become something out of their control. These beings are considered to be more based in folklore rather than being part of a real affliction, the legends and stories surrounding them are still just as fascinating.
